EVE Bridal: How did you two meet?
Lilian: We met in campus, Egerton University, in 2003 as freshmen. George says he saw me on the first day during registration because I jumped the queue and just stood right before him. We later became friends, but did not start dating until September 2005.
EB: What attracted you to each other?
Lilian: George is calm and collected. He loves genuinely and gives without expecting anything in return. He is God fearing and his faith can move you. I like the shape of his head and that was my first attraction to him amazingly, and to date, I still insist on him maintaining an Afro.
George: Here is this beautiful tall girl jumping the queue just in front of you, I guess anyone would notice. Anyway, we became friends and we would share and talk a lot about everything. It is in those moments that I liked her attitude in life, she is positive and optimistic and that was one of the things that attracted me to her.
EB: How was the dating experience?
Lilian: Dating has its own challenges though I can say those eight years have been our best. We have learnt to understand each other better. We wouldn’t trade the years we have dated for anything. The memories alone are worth every second we dated.
EB: What did you like about him?
Lilian: George has been protective of me and never allowed anyone to hurt me. In the process, I became very confident and was ready to conquer the world. He instilled a sense of calmness in my life and this is what I hold dear. He pushes you beyond your limit and you can achieve anything with him by your side. This has made the bond between us inseparable.
EB: Did he meet your dream proposal?
Lilian: Oh yes he did. He did something different that I didn’t expect. It wasn’t the normal way they invite you for dinner and drop the ring in your drink, though he still went down on his knee and gave me that silent look and dropped the big question. Baby, I loved it, that was well calculated. Thumbs up!
EB: Where was the honeymoon? How was it?
Lilian: We went to Egypt and we had mad fun. Egypt is a beautiful country. From viewing the pyramids of Giza, the sleeper train to Aswan, the temples make you wonder what type of brains those ancient Egyptians had because they are simply amazing. The Nile cruise to Luxor was the bomb. Moving on to Hurghada on the Red Sea and spending at Hilton a few days, swimming in the Red sea and meeting people from all walks of life. We had the time of our life.
George: The land of the pharaohs was perfect. It’s the only part of the wedding planning that I really looked forward to. I guess it’s because that part was gladly left to me with no room for ‘consultations’. And it was really a plus for us.
