A Parliamentary Committee has threatened to recommend the dissolution of the Board of National Oil Corporation of Kenya (Nock).
The Committee on Energy, Communications and Information, said it may be forced to take the action after the board chairman, Mr Peter Munga wrote to management of Nock stopping it from honouring its summonses for the past two months.
Mr Munga is supposed to appear before the Committee to shed light on wrangles between the management and the Board.
“The Chairman holds himself higher than anybody else. For him to write to stop management from turning up for parliamentary hearings shows disregard for this Committee. We could recommend the disbandment of the board,” said Alego-Usonga MP, Edwin Yinda.
Consequently, the Committee ordered that Mr Munga appears before the Committee today without fail.
There has been management wrangles between the management and Mr Munga, with the latter being accused of micromanaging the corporation.
Wajir West MP, Adan Keynan, Dujis MP, Aden Dualle and Rarieda MP, Nicholas Gumbo said Mr Munga has been micromanaging the corporation because he has an interest in the Energy sector.
