The noose appeared to tighten on Muhoroni Youth as they crashed to a 3-0 defeat to KCB at City Stadium despite having held Sofapaka 2-2 a week ago.

Fred Imonje’s charges looked out of sorts and only the bankers’ profligacy prevent a cricket score, on Sunday.

KCB had not won since May 5 when they beat, incidentally, their guests  Sunday — having lost in the intervening period to Gor Mahia home and away and Sony Sugar in similar fashion.

head home

But as if it was a case of enough is enough, Benjamin Chaka opened KCB’s account as early the fifth minute.

Jacob Keli had the chance to double their lead, but they had to wait until the 37th minute for Brian Osumba to settle any lingering nerves.

Michael Oyando popped up inside the area to head home the third in the 58th minute as Muhoroni appeared to have lost whatever iota of fighting spirit long before the hour mark.

“We were outplayed in all departments. And thanks to KCB’s wastefulness, we should have lost heavily,” Imonje said.

“However, we have to pick up the pieces for the journey is still long. We need to prepare for Thika United who are visiting us next,” the former AFC Leopards coach told FeverPitch.

In Naivasha, Karuturi returned to winning ways with newboy Hussein Zzinda netting for the flwoermen in their 1-0 defeat of Sony Sugar at Oserian Stadium.

Karuturi, who have been forced to play away from home because of a court case surrounding their Old Trafford pitch, had gone two straight matches without a win having gone down to Oserian and Mathare United.

However, they seemed to have mastered their new home as they also inflicted Sony Sugar their second straight loss.

In Thika, Oserian’s mini-revival under coach Peter Ogutu continued as they forced a 1-1 draw at the Municipal Stadium.

Oserian cancelled Wycliffe Opondo’s early second goal with a late goal by Edmond Murai strike.

In Nakuru, Gor Mahia withstood late pressure to beat Chemelil 1-0 at Afraha Stadium. Defender Ivan Onguyo struck in 56th minute.

Anguyo picked a loose ball in the penalty area and unleashed a powerful drive, which beat goalkeeper Fredrick Onyango after a move initiated by striker Rama Salim.
