Most people are not aware of the potential that lies within them. They do jobs they don’t enjoy, live in houses they dislike and travel in means they hate and the list goes on…
Despite such mediocrity and complacency, every person is created by God to soar great heights like an eagle. Here are some of the traits we can borrow from eagles:
Powerful
Eagles are powerful birds of prey, whose strength lies in their enormous wings. They have large, strong beaks and powerful claws. God has also wired the human race in a powerful way. Human beings have the most developed brain network compared to other God’s creatures. That is why it is only man who has developed the earth with massive technological advancements.
Excellent eyesight
Even though their eyes are larger than that of humans, they can see up to three and a half times better than a person with perfect vision. An eagle can see a moving rabbit from a mile away, and a fellow eagle soaring 50 miles away! Now, we may not have such powerful vision but we can bank on God to enhance our spiritual vision. He has said that without a vision, people perish.
Soars
An eagle has a wingspan of up to seven feet and learns to soar by using thermal currents of air. The surrounding terrain creates these warm air patterns.
When soaring the skies, an eagle spreads its wings and tail feathers and lets the wind carry it to new heights, then glides down to catch another upward thermal.
Soaring saves an eagle energy because it does not have to flap its wings as often. Soaring like an eagle is no mean task. Our thoughts must be transformed and we must purpose to push ourselves to unimaginable levels.
Builds nest high above
Eagles build their nests high on cliffs or in tall trees. An eagle’s nest is a huge mass of sticks, lined inside with softer material for the benefit of the young.
Again symbolically, where do we build? Are we content with where we live or do we want to move to higher ground? Have we given our children the best? Have we built lasting and warm relationships with the people around us?
The Lord says that those who wait on Him will renew their strength like the eagle. They shall mount up with wings and fly and they will never grow weary and faint.
Let’s remember that we are eagles and, therefore, have no business leading frustrated, unfulfilling, miserable lives.
When you feel down, remind yourself that you are a powerful and visionary person who soars above all storms.
