Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo has said that the Mombasa Republican Council is expressing genuine historical grievances.
He at the same time accused some presidential aspirants of owning huge tracts of land in Coast Province.
He said most of this land is lying uncultivated, adding that there will be no stability until land problems are solved in Coast and Rift Valley provinces.
Jirongo was touring Tana River and Kwale counties over the weekend.
The Lugari MP accused post-colonial regimes of fostering inequality and poverty by grabbing prime land in Coast Province.
He criticised proposals to renew the leases of the 1.4 million acres of land under the Agricultural Development Corporation in Kilifi and Tana River counties saying the land should be allocated to locals for agriculture.
