In 2010, Western Stima won their two Kenyan Premier League fixtures against Ulinzi.
Last year, the soldiers turned the tables winning both legs. It has been hard to predict the outcome whenever the two sides clash, which sets up a juicy battle as the soldiers eye to electrocute Western Stima Saturday.
Western Stima coach Henry Omino says they are ready to exert revenge on a side that beat them twice last season as they march towards their goal of finishing in the top five positions.
"We understand it will be a tough game but we are determined to come out top. For us it will be attacking all through because it is the best strategy for us to get all three points away," said Omino.
Stima are still inspired by last weekend’s 1-0 win over Chemelil Sugar a result that saw them break the sugar millers home un-beaten run and Omino believes it will inspire his side towards another victory.
"My players are still over the moon regarding that crucial win against Chemelil. It has given us plenty of belief going into this fixture and we believe it will carry us past our rivals," he said.
Omino has predicted a physical game but insists his side is more tactical.
"Our opponents thrive on playing a physical game because of their military background but we are better on tactics. "We have worked on our physical fitness and coupled with a tactical disposition, I believe my side has a slight advantage over the soldiers. On Saturday, it will be difficult to know who is a professional soldier and who is a civilian because we will march them on the physical aspects of the game," said the veteran coach.
Ulinzi go into Saturday’s match on the back of impressive results since Sammy Simiyu took over as coach replacing fired Benjamin Nyangweso. The soldiers have won their last two matches and appear to be recovering their lost form.
Elsewhere, Kenyan Premier League (KPL) is yet to find a suitable venue for the top eight clash between archrivals Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards.
The league company is unable to get Nyayo National Stadium after the Sports Stadia Management Board (SSMB) suspended Gor Mahia from using any of their facilities due to crowd trouble.
According to KPL Managing Director Jack Oguda, the SSMB wants Gor Mahia to commit on controlling their fans before the board can consider their request to lift the suspension.
"We wrote to the board last week and they have insisted that Gor commit to keeping peace. We have asked them to do that and we are waiting for their response," said Oguda.
Gor Mahia was banned from using the facilities following fan trouble during a league match against AFC Leopards two months ago.
