President Uhuru Kenyatta made several appointments to various government parastatals in a special gazette notice. The appointees, who will serve in different capacities, include a number of celebrated and well-known women across the country: Eva Buyu Msando
President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed wife of slain IEBC ICT boss Chris Msando, Eva Msando, to a government job. Ms Eva was appointed as a board member to the Export Processing Zones (EPZ) Authority for a period of three years starting on 20th September.
Faith Waigwa
Ms Faith Waigwa, who formerly served as the vice chair of LSK, will take charge at the Public Procurement Administrative Review board as the chairperson for a period of three years.
Christine Atieno Otieno
Former Kisumu County gubernatorial aspirant Christine Atieno Otieno was appointed as a board member of Chemelil Sugar Company. Ms Christine Atieno formerly served as the Maendeleo ya Wanawake Chairlady.
Lucy Yinda
Appointed Chairperson of the Street Families Rehabilitation Trust. Ms Lucy Yinda is a founding Trustee and Director of the Wema Centre Trust where they have been supporting the work and rehabilitation of street children, including fundraising for relocation and family re-unification for the past 25 years.
Charity Selina Kisotu
Appointed Chairperson of the Insurance Tribunal. Ms Charity Kisotu has also been serving as a director to the Central Bank of Kenya since November 2016. Earlier, she was appointed chair of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) board of trustees by then Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi.
Alice May Kirenge
Board member of the LAPSSET Corridor Development Authority. She is also the chairperson of the Finance and Admisistration Committee at LAPSEET. Formerly, she was the Director of Operations and Head of Corporate Communications and PR at CFC Life Insurance and currently is the General Manager at the Monarch Insurance Company.
Fauziya B Karama
Fauziya Karama will continue as a board member of the LAPSSET Corridor Development Authority for a period of three years. She was appointed to the board in 2013.
Debora Budi
Debora Budi was appointed the chairperson of the Youth Advisory Board.
Angeline Yiamiton Siparo
Will chair the National AIDS Control Council for a period of three years.
