Five killed in Kangundo accident

Five people died and two others were seriously  injured in an accident along Kangundo-Nairobi road on Saturday night.

The accident occurred at Kaumoni area when a G-Touring saloon car lost control and rolled several times.

Five passengers died on the spot while two were rescued from the wreckage ad rushed to hospital.

Confirming the incident Kangundo OCPD Wilson Wako told The Standard that the vehicle was overloaded as it carried more than five passengers.

The bodies of the five victims who perished were moved to Kangundo Level 4 Hospital mortuary.

There have been protests by public transport operators in Tala and Kangundo towns over the poor condition of the road that has become a death trap due to pot holes.
