ODM nominee for Ndhiwa parliamentary seat faces an uphill task, as those who lost to him are plotting to ensure he loses the by-election scheduled for September 17.

ODM nomination aspirants, who were disillusioned by the party nomination results on Monday, warned the party that its controversially nominated candidate is not going to find it easy.

They complained that the party was trying to impose a leader on them.

“This is a clear indication that the party is abusing the support it has been enjoying in Ndhiwa. The party needs to know that imposing leadership on people is no longer tenable,” said one of the former aspirants who sought anonymity.

During their meeting in one of the hotels in Nairobi on Thursday, about 15 former ODM nomination candidates resolved to have a plan B that was aimed at backing a candidate on a different party ticket.

They promised to avail their plan B to members of the public early next week and vowed to ensure ODM loses to avoid a repeat of election malpractices in future.

“Residents of Ndhiwa have been staunch supporters of ODM. The party ought to have respected the views of the people by endorsing the right candidate who won the nomination
