Gangsters shot dead a bar attendant and stole more than Sh150,000 during a robbery in South B Estate, Nairobi.

Police said the gang went to Twisted Bar at about 4am and posed like customers before they started to rob patrons.

The gang shot the attendant at close range before they escaped with the loot.  The body was removed to the mortuary.

Makadara OCPD Tom Atuti suspects the thugs are regular patrons of the bar as they knew their way around the building and other security arrangements.

“They first knocked on the door because the management had apparently closed and when they were ushered in they turned out to be robbers. We are hunting them down,” said Mr Atuti.

The gang of about four people is said to have escaped towards the nearby Mukuru slums.

Meanwhile, two suspects were arrested on Wednesday night in Nairobi’s Buruburu area for allegedly being ring leaders of a gang that has been robbing taxi drivers in Nairobi.

The two were arrested after they allegedly hired a taxi from Kilimani area and tried to rob the driver in Pipeline before they drove towards Buruburu.

Police say the suspects are under investigations and have been mentioned in several robbery incidents targeting taxis.
