Eldoret North MP William Ruto has accused US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of meddling in Kenya’s affairs.
She had suggested that post-election violence suspects?be locked out of the presidential race.
He termed the suggestions as the height of superiority arrogance meant to scuttle his presidential bid alongside that of Deputy Prime Minister, Uhuru Kenyatta.
The United Republican Party (URP) leader said it was up to Kenyans to choose their next president and told off the US for trying to influence their choice.
He spoke at Kutus Market in Kirinyaga County?today where he took his presidential campaigns accompanied by Assistant minister Kazungu Kambi and four?other legislators.
The presidential contender said the International Criminal Court ( ICC) had clearly said the hearing of cases affecting him and three other Kenyans would start in April, after the General Election.
He?told the gathering that the justice system must be respected?since the judges and the prosecutor at The Hague have?already said it was up to the electorate to decide?their fate.
Mrs Clinton was quoted as saying suspects facing criminal charges should not be allowed to vie for the presidency, noting if they were voted in, the US may find it difficult working with them.
Legislators Joshua Kutuny , Benjamin Lagat, Elijah Lagat and Chachu Gaya accompanied the URP presidential aspirant?in his five-day tour of the Mt Kenya East region.
Ruto said he was ready to work with?Uhuru and assured the crowd that they will form the next government with other like-minded leaders.URP he said, would ensure the agriculture sector was revived to ensure youths were employed adding that he will set aside a revolving fund to provide interest free loans to women and young people.
Kambi urged Prime Minister Raila Odinga to explain his role in the aborted 1982 coup and the recent maize scandal, saying that ODM did not represent change.
