Nakuru,Kenya: Police are looking for a man who allegedly threatened to kill his ex-lover after stabbing her husband and critically injuring him.

John Kariuki Karanja was released by a court despite Nakuru Central Police OCS Bamfort Tsurwa’s plea that he should not be set free.

Mr Kariuki allegedly stabbed Benjamin Wahome several times in the stomach last Thursday at Free Area.

He was charged on Monday before Chief Magistrate Samuel Mungai and denied the charges. He was then released on a Sh20,000 bond.

The prosecution overlooked a memo by the OCS requesting the accused be denied bond as the complainant is admitted in critical condition.

The OCS said: “I beg that the accused be denied bond as the patient is in an unstable condition.”

Betty Nyambura, the complainant’s wife, claims the accused has threatened to go for her head.
