Kakamega man kills secondary school student over alleged affair with his daughter

Kakamega, Kenya: A man on Monday clobbered to death a student at Musingu Mixed Secondary in Ikolomani over allegations that he had an affair with his daughter.

Benson Alukwe, alias Shipande, who is also a gold miner is said to have earlier warned the deceased to cut links with his daughter aged 14. She is also a student at the Musingu Secondary.

"Alukwe had warned the boy to stop dating his girl but he seemed not to have taken it seriously. He found him at Malinya Shopping Centre at about 7 pm with the girl and descended on him with whips leaving him for the dead," said a resident at Malinya, only identified as Juma.

The deceased was rushed to Shibwe Sub-County hospital by good samaritans after sustaining serious head injuries and other minor soft tissue injuries.

"He arrived at the hospital at around 7pm with blood frothing from the back of his head. He coul not speak. We attended to him throughout the night but unfourtunately, he succumbed to the injuries at 6:15 am, Tuesday morning," said nurse in-charge, Michael Odera.

Malinya residents rounded up the suspect and marched him to Malinya Police Station.
