Man killed over television volume, Nakuru Court told

A man's insistence to have the volume of the television reduced agitated his two colleagues to an extent that they beheaded him, a Nakuru court heard yesterday.

The gruesome murder of John Oluoch happened on August 30, 2010.

Investigating officer Inspector Paul Ochieng told Justice Anyara Emukule that Julius Wafula and Laban Kamagara killed the deceased after they were incensed by his constant nagging that they reduce the volume of the television.

Mr Ochieng said that after interrogating a 14-year girl who was in the victim's room and witnessed the whole saga.

"She said that Kamagara, who appeared drunk, was enraged by Oluoch's constant nagging that the volume of the TV be reduced, and that he left the house in a huff only to return armed with a panga and a club," said Ochieng.

After the two killed the deceased, they wrapped his body in a blanket and disposed it off in a bush, a few metres from the house. The body was discovered the next day.

The matter was adjourned till November 27, pending defence hearing.
