Police launch manhunt for Rongai gang who killed ailing man

Police officers have launched a manhunt for suspects who killed a 44-year-old man in Rongai sub-county on Sunday evening, before dumping the body near his home.

Confirming the incident, Rongai police boss Joseph Mwamburi said the deceased, who has been ailing, left his home for a walk but never returned.

"Njoroge's body had bruises on the head, neck, hands and face. We have launched investigations on the incident because this is not the first case," said Mwamburi.

The body was taken to Nakuru municipal mortuary for post-mortem. The police boss observed that the high incidence of murder in the area is as a result of family conflicts surrounding land.

On August 10, a 27-year-old man was killed in Rongai and dumped in a river. Last month, a 50-year-old man was brutally attacked and killed in Molo. His body was also found floating in a nearby river.
