Kisumu All Stars, commonly known as Otenga, are set to kick off their 2024-2025 FKF National Super League (NSL) campaign this Sunday as they host 3K Football Club at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

The match, scheduled for 3 PM, marks the start of a new chapter for the team, who are eager to improve on last season’s performance and push for promotion to the FKF Premier League.

Otenga finished fifth last season with 62 points, 14 points short of a promotion playoff spot, and are determined to rectify that miss this year.

Head Coach Charles Bruno Warinda will lead the team, with assistance from Fobian Hosea and Geoff in tactical and technical preparations. The legendary Bonface "Mabobe" Owade, who has long been a key figure in Kenyan football, will continue in his role as goalkeeping coach, honing the skills of the team's keepers.

The players' fitness levels are in the hands of Strength and Conditioning Specialist Dick Osano, while Physiotherapist Pinto Owiti will work diligently to prevent injuries and ensure the squad remains physically fit for the demands of the season. Team Manager Rashid Ochieng has also been instrumental in coordinating the squad’s preparations for the upcoming league opener.

On the pitch, Kisumu All Stars will be led by captain Brian Ombura, with his deputies Steve and Reagan providing critical leadership support.

The team will be looking to start the season on a positive note and set the tone for their ultimate goal of earning promotion back to the FKF Premier League.

After a season of near misses, Kisumu All Stars are eager to prove themselves as serious contenders in the NSL, with fans hoping to see their team return to the top-flight football league.

A strong start against 3K FC will be crucial to their promotion aspirations, as early points can define the pace for the rest of the season. Football enthusiasts in Kisumu are expected to fill Moi Stadium on Sunday, showing their support and urging their team toward victory.

The NSL opening weekend is packed with exciting fixtures across the country.

In addition to Kisumu All Stars' clash with 3K FC, fans can look forward to Samwest Black Boots FC taking on SS Assad FC at Vapor Grounds in Ngong, Mombasa Stars FC hosting Nairobi United FC at Serani Sports Club in Mombasa, and MCF FC facing Vihiga United FC at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

With the league kicking off in high spirits, Kisumu All Stars will look to set the stage for a successful season.

Their preparations, guided by an experienced coaching and management team, signal a serious intent to make a return to the Premier League. As the season begins, Otenga are ready to fight for the promotion spot that narrowly eluded them last season.
