The 21 year old cost Arsenal £5m and Wenger had been hopeful of promoting the player to the first team but a move to the Bundesliga side will be a good level to ready the striker for the Premier League when he finally is allowed to play in England.

Asano hasn’t spent his time not playing however after some impressive performances in the Rio 2016 Olympics for his country South Korea.

Wenger has also signed Lucas Perez who is supposed to sign a four-year deal today after Arsenal triggered a £17.1m to Deportivo’s release clause
