Only one change and Arsenal will be Premier League title contenders this season

Gary Neville says Arsenal need to start nullifying their opponents if they are going to win the Premier League.

The former Manchester United defender says that the Gunners are more concerned about what they do on the ball, rather than off it, and it is costing them results.

Arsenal come into Sunday's clash with United hoping to bounce back from Champions League heartbreak and close the gap on the top of the Premier League.

An embarrassing 3-2 defeat to Olympiakos has left Arsene Wenger's side on the brink of an early European exit.

But Neville believes that can work in Arsenal's favour as they could clear their schedule for the Premier League.

For that to work, Neville says they need to make one key change.

Writing in his Telegraph column, he said: "Starting against Manchester United this weekend, they have to prepare themselves to deal with the strengths of the opposition before they can impose their own brand of football.

"I believe the league this year is up for grabs - and Arsenal have been the most consistent team in the competition since January. In a week when they have been damaged by their Champions League display they could end up with a single domestic focus."

Arsenal host United on Sunday afternoon and Neville has revealed what mentality he thinks the Gunners defenders need to bring.

He believes that Arsenal are more interested in playing their own brand of football than stopping their opponents.

He said: "It starts with a player thinking: how am I going win that duel with Memphis Depay or Anthony Martial . It’s about little details. And it's not about sacrificing principles. It’s about respecting your opponent, nullifying his weapons and allowing your own strengths to prevail from a sound foundation."
