OiLibya team of Azar Anwar and navigator Julius Ngigi in a Mitsubishi EVO 8 will leave the ramp first in the KCB Micro Banking Rally scheduled for Nakuru Saturday.
The rally, which is the fifth leg of Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC), will be flagged off outside the Kenya Commercial Bank branch in Egerton University, Njoro, with 39 revving off.
Anwar is back after missing the previous event- KCB Simba Savings Rally in Meru last month.
He hopes to post good results to catch up with series leaders as he looks forwards to clinching the title he last won in 2006.
Anwar currently occupies eighth position with 70 points, 200 points less than series leader Alistair Cavenagh who has 270 off three rallies.
Second off the ramp will be Dalbit Rally Team of Carl Tundo and navigator Tim Jessop, driving Mitsubishi EVO 9.
Baldev Chager and navigator Raju Sehmi of OiLibya Racing team lead Subaru charge in the event which is expected to be wet when they zoom off in third position behind the wheels of Subaru Impreza N12.
Flagged off
Fourth to be flagged off will be Lee Rose of Wladoil Racing in Mitsubishi EVO 9 with Piers Daykin reading pace notes.
Alistair Cavenagh of Dalbit Rally Team starts in fifth position in a Mitsubishi EVO 9, with leading navigator Gavin Laurence reading pace notes.
Two-wheel-drive series leader Leonardo Varese, and navigator Kigondu Kareithi of Jade Petroleum, driving a VW Golf Gti, are out to cement their top position when they zoom off in 32nd position during the event.
"I have won two rallies and I hope to win the third one this season," Varese said.
Hosts Rift Valley Motor and Sports Club announced that scrutineering for the rally would take place at Egerton’s ARC Hotel from 9am to 4pm today.
The rally will feature five competitive stages with the service park positioned right at the Equator within Mogotio town. The highlight of the competition will be the 1km spectator stage next to the service park.

PulseSome celebrities seem to re-invent themselves with ease, even after they have seemingly gone over the precipice. Others, once they go over the cliff, get iced - like Vanilla Ice and Mr Nice - and never recover.
