The Calling All Innovators contest is looking for websites, which are optimised for mobile browsing with Nokia devices,and web applications called Web Runtime or WRT widgets for Nokia devices.

Using the knowledge of standard Web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript and CSS, you can extend your Web services to create fantastic, mobile-optimised websites or WRT widgets.

It is now estimated that about 40 per cent of all Internet users today have mobile Internet access, meaning that users could represent more than 20 per cent of a site’s traffic.

It might be time to redesign your site or create a new one with them in mind. If you are in the tourism business, for instance, you probably have bold and beautiful pictures of different animals and perks in existence.

The site may also feature a video on the home page showing different sites and activities in a country and after a few seconds a pop-up window displays, encouraging visitors to book for accommodation online may be a necessary component of a site.

The contest is open to anyone with bold ideas and tremendous talent. Whether new to mobile or an experienced coder, you could win up great prizes along with new opportunities to grow your business.

Prizes include cash, an opportunity to demonstrate the winning application at a Nokia specified event this Fall; and "Spotlight" placement featuring your winning application on Nokia’s newly announced Ovi Store, where consumers will find the best mobile applications and content for their Nokia devices.

Traditional website are designed to work well for certain users, such as corporate customers accessing it from a high-speed telecommunication line.

Some examples of the types of applications that the judges will be looking for include Communications – Web Runtime widgets to enhance the communication experience between consumers and services by using mobile messaging, instant messaging, e-mail, and other forms of 21st century communication.
