At first glance, one could be forgiven for thinking the people in these photos are at the local South Korean gikomba market shopping for shoes. But in reality, they were in a police station in Seoul last week searching for lost shoes. Police arrested a 59-year-old thief who confessed to having stolen about 1,200 pairs of luxury-brand shoes, which he stored in a warehouse for sale in the streets. Friday was no ‘Furahiday’ for three women who thought Muindi Mbingu Street had become too narrow and opted to become pavement motorists. The driver ploughed into several sidewalk barriers outside I&M Building as pedestrians watched in disbelief. The women, who appeared to be under the influence, then staggered from their wrecked vehicle to inspect the damage and try pick up the pieces.
