A man was found guilty yesterday of plotting a terrorist attack on Kenya's most famous skyscraper, the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, in 2019.

Victor Odende was found guilty of terrorism charges by a Nairobi court. The convict is Elgiva Bwire's cousin, who went missing last year after being acquitted of a similar crime.

Odende was linked to a plot to bomb KICC in 2019 with others who are not in court. He was charged in front of Milimani Chief Magistrate Bernard Ochoi with conspiracy to commit a terrorist attack and gathering information with the intent of carrying out a terrorist attack on KICC.

Odende admitted he had been enrolled to collect information on KICC security operations, parking areas, and surrounding areas prior to the attack.

"The court found that the prosecution proved the two counts beyond reasonable doubt," Ochoi said. Odende had opened three Facebook accounts which he used to collect data and send it to the terrorists in Somalia.
