Owner of collapsed Huruma building finally arrested

Nairobi: The owner of the residential building that collapsed in Huruma estate, Nairobi, has been arrested.

Samuel Kamau presented himself to Pangani Police Station where he was interrogated.

Police said they were also looking for the architect and engineers who worked on the structure before and during its construction.

Police had contacted some of them who said they would present themselves Monday.

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet had asked them to surrender to the nearest police station.

The arrest came as eight more bodies were retrieved from the debris of the collapsed building Sunday, raising the death toll to 21.
