Another drive to stop consumption of illegal alcohol in central Kenya will be kicked off next week.

The announcement was made yesterday at the State Lodge, Sagana, where President Uhuru Kenyatta hosted leaders from the five counties in Central, joined by others from Laikipia and Nakuru.

President Kenyatta said the fight against illegal brews will this time be multi-pronged using the security apparatus, MPs and MCAs.

MPs and MCAs will support the war by passing the necessary laws to control the trade in illegal brews.

The President said, "The law should protect life. It should not be used to protect those who are killing the youth."
