The wife of controversial doctor Mugo wa Wairimu is accusing her husband’s friend of theft.

Agather Kithure claims Samson Ombaki Osoro stole her iPhone valued at Sh125,000, an iPad, two mobile phones valued at Sh84,915, an infinix hot note mobile phone valued at Sh14,500 and Philips power bank.

The theft reportedly occurred on November 18 at Thome Estate.

The suspect in his statement, claimed he met with Mugo wa Wairimu at Muthaiga Police Station while in police custody last September. The suspect claims to have made friends with the ‘doctor’ and even exchanged contacts.

Police said the suspect had previously called Mugo’s home to seek for refuge claiming he had been thrown out of his house.

The court heard that the suspect arrived at the complainant’s home at 10am in the company of Mugo. The complainant is said to have left the house to rush to her place of work leaving the two behind.

According to the prosecution, the complainant’s husband left the suspect alone in the house later that day.

Mrs Mugo is said to have returned from work at around 4pm and found the suspect still around. The court heard that Agather left the house after picking some documents. She allegedly asked the suspect to prepare vegetables for dinner.

At around 9pm when everyone had returned, the family reportedly ate dinner together before retiring for the night. The suspect was left to sleep in the sitting room where the gadgets were left charging.

The court also heard that Mugo woke up at around 6am only to find the suspect as well as the said properties missing.

The suspect told police they were great friends with Mugo who had at one time bailed him out after he was accused stealing of Sh500 memory card. Osoro however denied theft charges and was released on Sh70,000 bail. His trial was set to begin on April 24, 2015.
