Energy Minister Kiraitu Murungi is yet to abandon his project of bringing together “like-minded” politicians interested in the presidency.
On Tuesday, Kiraitu pleaded with G7 leaders to unite or fail miserably.
This is not the first time the Imenti South MP is travelling this route. He is now pleading with the aspirants to heed the unity call or perish.
He wants a unity pact featuring Kalonzo Musyoka, Uhuru Kenyatta, Musalia Mudavadi and William Ruto, which he says is assured of victory in the elections.
“I’m still keen to bring these leading politicians together since this is the only sure way of forming a winning team,” announced Kiraitu in Meru.
A passionate Kiraitu told the aspirants to read the signs of the times and understand that none of the contestants can win the State House race alone. He urged Kalonzo, Uhuru, Mudavadi and Ruto to swallow their pride and unite to allow one of them succeed President Kibaki.
“They should unite the same way forces of change did during the 2002 General Election where like-minded leaders came together and finally managed to remove Kanu from power,” he appealed.
Good initiative
Kiraitu spoke in Imenti Central. He said he is engaged in talks with G7 presidential aspirants to have them pick one flag-bearer.
