Woman and her child badly injured as bodaboda rider jumps off escaping oncoming vehicle in Bungoma

 A woman and her child escaped death after a matatu nearly ran over them along the Bungoma-Mumias road at Musikoma, Bungoma town yesterday at around 6.00pm.

Several people were left with injuries as the matatu ferrying 14 passengers Kisumu hit a motorbike that was crossing the road at Musikoma in the outskirts of Bungoma town.

The rider was carrying a mother and a kid when the journey was cut short as he tried to cross the road landing them to the brink of death as the speedin vehicle knocked them down.

 According to witnesses, the driver had tried to evade the three but could not succeed as he had on high speed.

The bodaboda rider was lucky enough to save his life by jumping over by the road side leaving her passengers the tragedy.

The woman is said to be in stable condition as she receives treatment after they were rushed to a hospital in Mumias.

In the matatu and a child who were seated in the front seat with the driver got minor injuries and were treated later on at Russia hospital in Kisumu after a first aid from well-wishers.
