KCB Group CEO Joshua Oigara

KCB Bank has been named the Best Regional Bank in East Africa at the just-concluded African Banker Awards 2017 in Ahmedabad, India.

The bank, through its KCB Foundation, was also nominated in the category of the Most Socially Responsible Bank for improving the lives of the less-advantaged in society.

Other nominations that the lender received included Best Retail Bank, and the African Banker of the Year, where Group Chief Executive Joshua Oigara was nominated.

Mr Oigara said the award recognised the bank's consistent growth underpinned by its ability to deliver value to its stakeholders through sustainable banking practices.

"This award recognises the effort we have put in and what we are continuing to do to increase the number of the unbanked, and integrating new technologies into the system to ensure safe and easy transactions," he said.
