Woman charged with raping 12-year-old boy after video evidence was found on phone

A woman has been charged with having sex with a boy of just 12 after the lad's mother allegedly found explicit pictures on his mobile phone.

Shalin Manthe, 22, is accused of three counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child.

She faces up to 50 years behind bars and a fine of £75,000.

According to a criminal complaint, police in Wisconsin were alerted in May after the boy's mother showed his mobile phone to officers.

It allegedly contained sexual messages and pictures from Manthe, the Manitowoc Police Department complaint states.

Police reports into the case claim Manthe told officers the pair had sexual contact on "at least one occasion".

Mathe has a preliminary hearing scheduled in front of Circuit Court Judge Jerome Fox.
