Scared thief hides under bed for three days after owner disturbs break-in

New Jersey, USA: A would-be burglar hid under a bed for three days after being disturbed during a break-in.

Brazen Jason Hubbard walked into the property in New Jersey through an open door while the homeowner took out the rubbish, police said.

When the owner returned, intruder Hubbard shot into a spare room and hid under the bed, NBC 4 Washington reported.

Three days later, Hubbard was still hiding under the bed when the homeowner heard a noise and finally found him.

He was arrested on May 10 and charged with criminal trespass, burglary and theft of services.

Police are unsure as to what he planned to steal from the house on Ellenel Blvd. in Spotswood.

Hubbard passed the time at the house by playing on his four mobile phones and recharging them in the outlet next to the bed.

He is being held on $50,000 bail at Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center.
