Man who married a woman twice his age explains how they fell in love

Brighton, England:  Chris and Norma have been married for 15 years, despite a 32-year age gap.

The 36 and the 68-year-old - who live together in Brighton - fell in love at a Butlin's holiday camp when Chris was just 18 and they have been together ever since.

"I saw her one night and I was going to ask if she wanted a drink with me but I lost my bottle," says Chris of how they met. "One night I offered her a piggy back and it went from there."

The pair say they hit it off from the very first moment and Norma even stayed over.

"People must think Norma creeks in the bed," jokes Chris.

After just knowing each other for a short time Chris then got down on one knee and proposed - the rest they say is history and they got married in August 1999.

Over the years, ill health has come close to claiming Norma's life and she has since decided to plan her own dream funeral. Chris is annoyed as she talks about wanting all the trimmings, including a horse-drawn carriage with pink plumage – he cannot bear all the talk about her death.

"If I go to bed I put fresh make-up on, just in case I die in the night," states Norma, with a grin on her face.

Appearing in the first episode from new Channel 5 series Age Gap Love: She's 68, He's 36, the pair show just how much they are in love.

The series follows on from hit documentary She's 78, He's 39: Age Gap Love and features more remarkable couples from the UK and USA who are all determined to prove that mileage on the clock is no barrier to real romance.

Elsewhere, across the pond in sunny Florida, Joe is 39 years older than his 22-year-old girlfriend, budding artist Angela. Despite this being Angela's first serious relationship, the couple are determined to prove the doubters wrong.

"Anything he lacks in flexibility I certainly make up for," says Angela.

The 61-year-old Vietnam veteran is so besotted with her that he has even written a love song about their relationship.
