Nairobi, Kenya: Oscar winning film "Out of Africa" which depicted stunning sceneries from Kenya in the 1986 production that starred Meryl Streep and Robert Redford has paid off big time for Kenya - three decades after the film was released.

Sceneries from the film has catapulted Ngong Hills in Kajiado county to be voted the world's most romantic movie locations by travel deals website Travelzoo , according to a list released yesterday and reported by CNN.

The website which claims to have 27 million subscribers worldwide announced that due to "its unspoiled scenery, natural beauty and Oscar-winning film "Out of Africa," Kenya's Ngong Hills grabs the top spot on the list.

Paris came in second place. It was the location for Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy romantic 2004 film "Before Sunset" while New York took third place as the location for the Tom Hanks-Meg Ryan in the acclaimed 1993 film "Sleepless in Seattle."

Rome was fourth place thanks to the 1953 movie "Roman Holiday," starring Gregory Peck and Katherine Hepburn. It was followed by Ireland's Wicklow Mountains from the 2007 movie "P.S. I Love You."

Hawaii's Halona Cove, Atlanta, Tokyo, Bakewell and Burgundy all managed to make the top 10 list.

According to CNN, the top rated travel website voted Ngong Hills top for its "dramatic African backdrop, award-winning soundtrack and Robert Redford's strong chemistry with Meryl Streep, best picture winner "Out of Africa" that helped Ngong Hills in Kenya grab the top spot."
