Education Minister Mutula Kilonzo is urging school officials to consult with students, parents and the ministry when changing school uniforms. The minister sort to clarify the expectable length of skirts for school going girls...he also denied that he was advocating for miniskirts for school girls. The minister quoted article 53 of the constitution, which says a child's best interest are of paramount importance in every matter concerning the child. Mutula was categorical in stating that he sided with the girls of Rwathia high school—who demanded to be allowed to wear mini-skirts--because their interests were not considered.
