There are myths in almost every Kenyan community and the Nandis living in Terige location, Nandi are no exception. They believe a spring in Kkiplolok area has special attributes as it tastes like soda. Locals tell of a story which dates back to the turn of the century when the Kalenjin and Maasai lived here. Legend has it that the two Pastoralist communities started fighting over the salty spring. The Maasai were forced to leave but not before they placed a curse on the springs. And as KTN’s Mercy Kandie reports, the Kalenjin who were left behind are to date forced to perform a ritual before drinking this magical water.
