Business: CBR reduces lending rate

To the relief of many the Central Bank of Kenya’s monetary policy committee has reduced the central bank rate by 150 basis points to 16.5% from 18% a figure it had maintained for six months. Commercial banks are now expected to similarly affect a downward review of their lending rates as inflation indices continue to show steady decline.
