KTN Prime: NHIF update

The troubled national hospital insurance fund is tonight on the spot for converting the outpatient scheme for civil servants into a fee for service exposing the fund to more fraud. The new fee for service implies the fund will pay service providers 1,500 per visit irrespective of the number of the patient’s visits. Peviously capitation method was used in paying for the civil servants health care in this case a lump sum was paid for each enrolled civil servant assigned to a health facility.
