Nakuru county—one of Kenya’s election violence hotspots---is seeking a new path. Kalenjin and Kikuyu leaders from the region have signed a peace deal to desist from actions that would lead to violence during the upcoming general elections, one of the peace-makers was former powerful Nakuru Kanu branch chairman, Wilson Leitich…the man who in 1991 called on KANU youths to chop off the fingers of opposition supporters who flashed the two-finger salute calling for multi-party democracy.
