Eldoret’s Timba-XO has officially stamped its authority in Kenya’s entertainment scene after being crowned Best Night Club at the Kenya Tourism Awards.
The high-end establishment, owned by Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, has redefined nightlife, setting new standards that have made even Nairobi’s most hyped clubs look like ordinary joints.
The glamorous awards ceremony, held at Villa Rosa Kempinski, celebrated clubs that have elevated nightlife through creativity and innovation.
Timba-XO emerged victorious in a category that featured some of Kenya’s top spots, including Platinum 7D (Nakuru), Quiver Lounge Kilimani (Nairobi), Bar Next Door (Kiambu Rd.), Da Place Lounge (Kisumu), 001 Lounge (Mombasa).
Others include Party Island Lounge (Naivasha), KODA (Nairobi), EVO Lounge (Rongai), and Funky Monkey (Diani).
Since its grand opening, Timba-XO has revolutionised the entertainment experience with its state-of-the-art architecture, an ultra-exclusive VVIP lounge, and an imported high-definition sound system that delivers an unmatched audio experience.
From the moment guests arrive, they are greeted by a stunning entryway with dynamic visual effects that set the mood for the night.
The club’s iconic searchlights piercing through the Eldoret night sky have become a beacon for party lovers, signalling where the action is happening.
Speaking after the big win, Timba-XO’s Lemaiyan Bonnke expressed his excitement, stating that the award was a validation of the club’s vision.
“Our goal was to create more than just a club, we wanted a full lifestyle destination. Winning this award proves that Eldoret can compete with, and even outshine, Kenya’s biggest cities in entertainment and hospitality.”
The club’s manager, Ben Kasimbu, echoed these sentiments, noting that Timba-XO is not just about music and dance but a complete lifestyle hub.
He explained that guests can enjoy a seamless experience that includes Cocco’s Bistro, a high-end restaurant offering an eclectic menu, a business centre that houses a barber shop, boutique, lifestyle parlour, and X.O Wash & Shine, a top-tier car detailing service.
Every weekend, the club hosts themed outdoor parties in its tented area, creating a lively and unique social atmosphere.
Kasimbu also highlighted the club’s 360° Photo Booth, which has become a hit among revellers looking to capture and share their unforgettable moments in high-quality images.
Timba-XO’s journey to the top has not been without challenges. In June 2024, the club made national headlines when it was vandalised during anti-government protests.
Viral videos showed angry youth storming the premises, breaking down the gate, smashing windows, and looting valuable items. The damage was extensive, affecting the bar, kitchen, and club sections, with looters making away with DJ equipment, expensive liquor, and food.
However, despite this setback, Timba-XO made a strong comeback, rebuilding its facilities and reaffirming its status as Kenya’s ultimate nightlife destination
