
Kenyan film and music enthusiasts now have a monthly event to look forward to, thanks to the dynamic curation of Nice Githinji, one of the industry’s most influential figures. The monthly event, dubbed Boma Film Night is set to become a must-attend for anyone wanting to experience the best in Kenyan entertainment, as it brings together the country’s top filmmakers and musicians in one vibrant space.
“Boma Film Nights is a vibrant new initiative designed to celebrate the best of Kenyan cinema while offering audiences a relaxed and engaging way to experience local films. The event provides a fresh approach to film viewing, bringing Kenyan stories closer to audiences in spaces where they feel at home,” the award-winning filmmaker told TNX.

The event is a carefully curated blend of thought-provoking films and electrifying music, offering a platform for both emerging and established Kenyan artists to shine.
Each month, the event features a diverse array of films, from powerful documentaries and short films to full-length features, all highlighting the rich tapestry of Kenyan culture and stories. The showcase also includes live music performances, spotlighting genres ranging from traditional to contemporary, ensuring a complete sensory experience for attendees.
On its debut, four films will be showcased at Café Amka located at Lorno House; Stero, Midnight Van, Mawimbi and Moments to Die For. The latter stars Nyokabi Macharia and is about Kui, a boxing Olympic medal winner who now tries to relieve her past glory as a social media influencer. Later there will be a moment for Q&A, games and a meet and greet session.
Tickets are going for Sh600 for singles and Couples getting a discount and paying Sh1100 at the Vip Wine room with monthly and yearly subscriptions
