We’ve been together for six months but we still haven’t had sex

Living

I have been seeing a man for over six months. I really like him and can see a future for us, although we still haven’t had sex.

When we first started meeting up he seemed a lot more interested than he does now. To add to the problem, work schedules are getting in the way and we are never able to see each other.

As much as I like him and want things to work out, I’m wondering if I should just move on?

Coleen says

Six months down the line and you’ve still not had sex isn’t a good sign.

It doesn’t sound like he’s someone who doesn’t believe in sex before marriage. If that were the case, I’m sure he would have had that discussion with you.

Has he even tried to be intimate with you?

If not, then maybe he just doesn’t see you in that way. When you first meet someone you’ve really fallen for, you’ll schedule sex in your lunch hour you’re so desperate to see each other!

You will only know whether to move on by talking to him and finding out exactly what he wants from your relationship. Maybe he sees you just as a friend.

If it doesn’t feel right to you now, then it probably is time to move on, but at least have the discussion about it first.
