A battle has emerged between prostitutes from Mombasa and those flocking the coast from Nairobi. The girls claim the ‘new comers’ have spoilt the party as they charge less for their services.
“Since last year we have witnessed an increase of cheap ‘sluts’ who are ready to trade in for a plate of chips or even Sh250. We will sweep them out of the town. I think you remember what we did in 2005,” said Mariam, who operates in one of the leading entertainment joint along the Mombasa Malindi highway.
She said they have been forced to charge Sh500 from the Sh3,000 they used to charge, last year. “Some of the women will even ask for as little as Sh100 from our rich clients. They have spoilt business,” she told The Nairobian, which has established that these ‘high-priced’ hookers have formed associations to protect their trade from ‘outsiders’.
