Princess Faridah

Former hip-gyrating singer and chakacha dancer now turned gospel singer and author Princess Farida is currently in Virginia where she is being hosted by the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), the organisation behind the popular international Christian show, The 700 Club.

Fridah, whose life changed dramatically after her encounter with God on a plane from a successful tour in Dubai back in 2001, is being hosted by the international broadcasting house to give her dramatic turning point story besides giving lectures at a number of universities.

“This is my first major breakthrough since I got saved. They (CBN 700 Club) saw the story about me back in 2001 and have since been following what I am doing. I will be giving my humble story through the testimony captured in my book, A New Me and will also be performing,” she told Monday Blues.

“Everything I say on air will be translated into Arabic and French to reach as many people as possible. This is a very humbling experience that proves that God still performs miracles,” she remarked.

The singing beauty, who happens to be the elder sister to Kenyan dancing wizard Kanda King, quit her secular act at the height of her career and converted to Christianity from Islam. In her book that was forwarded by renowned preacher Bishop Arthur Kitonga, she says that a former president’s son had asked to marry her.
