7 types of girls you need to avoid while on the rave

Have you ever gone out for a good night out and then someone decides to make it hell on earth. That happens a lot in town especially in those uptown joints we all love to party at. At first, the will wear the face of a good friend, extend to you a good hug and catch up with you on what has been going on before she starts pushing the demands. Suddenly, she is your date for the night.

The cry baby

In most cases, this kind of chic is fresh from a nasty break-up that she hasn’t yet come to terms with. She is in denial and doesn’t know whether to move on or stalk her ex.

She will consume any drink that is on offer if just to get high but will sooner or later get drunk silly and get overcome by emotions. She is messy and will turn you into a soothing counsellor as you try to sober her up lest she puts you to shame wailing on your shoulder with her break up tales and endless drunken calls.

She will use the moment to rant how her ex-boyfriend used to cheat on her and how he is a loser. That way, she gets to prove to you that she is good enough for her next date – who could be you. Your night will be reduced to just that – rants and raves!

Dance till you drop girl

Have you been to a club with this girl who turns crazy over every song the DJ plays? This is a nightmare. You can call her the hype girl or something. There are girls who have no time to sip the expensive drink you have bought or have time to socialise and get to know you better as all her night is on the dance floor. She sweats her body out dancing to every song and even offering to show her latest dance moves to anyone who cares give her attention.

The crowd-puller

She is the attention seeker in the club who dragged along her broke friends for a night out and in the hope of bumping into a willing ‘sponsor’ to entertain. She and her friends will make constant trips to the cloak rooms to change make-up and exchange notes on potential targets. On catching your attention, she will invite her troop of friends — to your table — who will be willing to flirt with your squad in exchange for booze. They are heavy drinkers who will soon swindle your entire squad broke and are willing to follow you around provided they get a good time. They will switch to any available drink and will easily follow you to your boys crib to “finish another bottle”.

“Can you buy me dinner?”

How do I start buying dinner at 2am? Seriously? You are in the club and you have felt generous enough to buy her a drink and before you know it, her demands on you starts to pile up. First she will ask you to get her shisha before pushing the envelope further. “Hun, can we do dinner?” she asks. Mind you, she hit the club at 11pm and one wonders why a dinner story should, in the first place, emerge at 2am. There is also another lot that insists that you go through those fast food places in town and grab her chips to take home.

The devils diva

She is the smartly dressed lonely diva who sits at a strategic visible spot sipping on a pricey cocktail. She knows her target and will quickly dismiss any approaching destructors. Once she receives her invite, she will order for a more expensive preference like expensive wines and cocktails she has never tried before simply to fake class. This chic will give you a good time but not before thoroughly denting your credit card.

Take me home chic

You have just met this girl in the club and over drinks, you become friends and well...it is true you are liking her company. But that is just a club thing. When it comes to time for going home, she decides to come along with you to your house and that is when you discover that she had a change of clothes in her bag as she didn’t plan to go home. If you make the mistake of taking her with you, boy oh boy...you will be in total trouble. She comes and takes over your house and forever decides ‘amefika’.

‘Send me Sh1,000’ chic

You had made advance plans to take this girl out and come that Saturday evening as you call her to confirm that you are still on, she responds by asking you to send her Sh1,000 to get her hair blow-dried. What nonsense! As if that is not enough, some will even ask for cash to buy a dress as if your are going for an Oscars night. Nairobi girls...surely!
