Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi has asked the Government to publish the names of people who have not collected their national identity cards.

This, he said, would enable those who wanted to register as voters to collect them in the shortest time possible.

Musalia was speaking during a voter mobilisation tour dubbed 'Nasa Kura' (register as a voter) in Kawangware, Nairobi County.

"Let the Government publicise in the newspapers those whose IDs are ready but are yet to be collected," he said, adding that there were organisations that were ready to fund such an initiative.

The Opposition leader also took issue with health facilities that withheld ID cards because the owners could not pay their medical bills.

"Hospitals must also release the IDs so that people can register and exercise their democratic right to vote."

He urged Kenyans to register in large numbers as that was the only way the Opposition could counter the Jubilee government.

"Doctors are on strike, people cannot get water and they shortchanged CORD on the electoral laws. This is why they must go home," he said.
