My bet on Christmas Cartoon.

A young man who passed his KCPE exams but couldn't afford the 53, 000 thousand shillings required for a year in secondary school got a was relieved the burden by good wishes who were moved by his quest for education.

Going by the proverb that says, “Necessity is the mother of invention" the boy thought outside the box and started an improvised Stone Grinding Mill.He was determined to join school and study to become a pilot. His dream looked like a mirage but as we are talking now everything has worked to his favor.

Evidently, his story had made it to the news, seeing as the valiant chap had decided to turn stone into ballast for as long as it would take his feeble hands to raise the said amount.

Through rock-crunching, the boy was ready to pay his high school fees and completed his studies. He also thought of his other hurdle of becoming a pilot as per his dream. He admitted that he knew it was next to an impossibility for him to get all the millions needed for him to join a flying school.

“Now I have tried to make kokoto out of rock before and managed only to make painfully sore stumps out of my callused fingers, and creaking hinges out of my aching joints. How will I make the millions for flying school, now what will I do?” wondered the boy.

The boy's story was shared on the Kenya Air Force Retired Officers WhatsApp group and that all made a very big difference.
Reading the piece, one of the members was inspired to go visit the boy's rock-crunching station. Inspired by the someday-pilot, he got back home, talked to his comrades on the group about Lionheart.

Promptly, 200 plus men started contributing towards the need. In one night, close to 2 years fees had been raised. One of the fellow KAF retirees, who owns a helicopter company, offered Pauper Lionheart an escort from his former Primary school to his new Secondary School. His two year fees was cleared.

Prince Lionheart now has a fully high-flying ride through Seko and a squad of good-willing Old Flyboys backing his ascent to the Olympian cockpit that seemed so mythically far above him not in less than two days.

Thanks to the power of Social Media, it added to the good grace of men who have seen it all and still want to help, subtracted from empty promises and inactive player, wins the day.
