ODM officials dismiss defectors, say party will win 2017 elections

ODM officials in the North Rift have dismissed top party leaders who have resigned from their positions as self-seekers.

They stated Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba's decision to leave his position as secretary general would not affect the party, which they said, was growing stronger and would form the Government after next year's elections.

County ODM chairman David Songok said those dismissing the party will be in for a surprise come 2017.

"We are not shaken in ODM, because it is the Government in waiting. Those quitting their positions are doing so on individual basis, and their actions will not affect the popularity of the party across the country," he said.

Speaking in Eldoret yesterday, Songok said ODM's rating was still high, and claimed that Jubilee was 'slowly losing popularity' in perceived URP zones.

"Jubilee is facing trouble and this is evident from the recent by-elections. We have maintained our members in ODM," said Mr Songok.
