Auditions for a new children’s beauty pageant, Little Miss Kenya, kicks off in Nairobi this weekend. This comes ahead of the Little Miss Universe international competition that will take place in Tbilisi, Georgia, in June.
The pageant that seeks to develop children's talents, self-esteem, confidence and personality from an early age, will see the crowning of Miss Teen Kenya and Best Star Talent among many other titles.
The auditions will be held at Kura grounds, Nyerere Road, this Saturday. Celebrated beauty queens will be judging the competitors.
“Little Miss Kenya has acquired the franchises of international pageant Little Miss Universe and we are asking parents to bring their children over for the auditions this coming Saturday,” said Little Miss Kenya national director Tinah Lughano.
"We will identify, nurture and expose children who are talented, and interested in modelling and fashion. Parents need not worry about their children not being crowned as the pageant ensures that all participants feel like princesses, which helps in boosting their confidence,” she added. Among those spearheading the project is former Miss University crown holder Joan Musumba.
