Police rescue 12-year-old girl 'defiled' by parents

Police in Embu North have rescued a 12-year-old girl at Kibugua village who was allegedly defiled by her parents. Area OCPD James Kadzomba said officers found the minor, who is both deaf and dumb, after a tip-off from residents.

The police boss said the girl’s legs had been tied to a bed using a rope. He said the minor’s mother took off after learning police were coming to her home.

The 12-year-old was rushed to hospital after she was found to have a fractured leg. Embu Level Five Hospital resident doctor Eric Musau said a series of tests showed the girl had been defiled. Police are looking for the girl’s parents.
