Deputy President William Ruto has urged public servants to respect constitutional commissions.

He cited the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) and Human Rights bodies.

“The Constitution has set the SRC to determine salaries of public officers all workers from the President to the messenger,” said Mr. Ruto.

Speaking at Mosoriot Africa Inland Church (AIC) in Nandi County during the Sunday Sermon, the Deputy President said salaries of all workers are paid according to their job, responsibilities and qualifications.

“We must respect the rule of law and all the constitutional bodies given powers by the Constitution,” said the Deputy President.

Governors Jackson Mandago (Uasin-Gishu), Alex Tolgos (Elgeyo/Marakwet), Chesumei MP Elijah Langat, Nandi County Women Representative Zipporah Kering and Nandi Deputy Governor Dominic Biwott accompanied the Deputy President.

Mr. Ruto noted that it was the responsibility of all Kenyans to respect the decisions made by the court of law to enable the country run under constitutional pillars.

The Deputy President said the harmonization of Salary would unite all workers and avoid confrontation.

He said all persons with equal qualifications and responsibilities in different sectors must be paid the same.

He also called on farmers to change their farming activities with the times considering that farm sizes were on the decline due to continued sub-divisions of family land as a result of a fast growing population against the stagnant resource.

The Deputy President said the Government has set aside Sh100million for the establishment of technical training institutes in each constituency.

Elgeyo/Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen urged the Government to speed up the tarmac of the Nyaru-Iten road saying it will go a long way in solving the transportation problems facing the people.

“We are happy that the latest appointments of persons to serve as members of parastatals is fair and all-inclusive,” said Mr. Murkomen.

Mr. Langat accused the International Criminal Court of bias and unfairly targeting African countries while having blind eye on other countries experiencing major wars like Syria.

Ms. Kering said the motion to impeach the President and Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru was ill intended by the movers as there was no support from the Kenyan electorates.

Mr. Tolgos said county governments would continue to work closely with the national government in ensuring service delivery to Kenyans.
