The Kenyan Premier League (KPL) has called off today’s high risk matches involving Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards. Gor Mahia were to play Western Stima at Nyayo Stadium while Leopards had a date with Sofapaka at City Stadium.

But the KPL was forced to postpone the two matches citing lack of adequate security as policemen could not provide the same due to the ASK show that starts today at Jamhuri grounds. Gor Mahia official Amina Ferrari said they were informed of the decision yesterday.

“We understand it is a high risk match but there is nothing at stake especially for Gor Mahia who have already won the league and so we don’t expect any trouble. Furthermore, last year, we still had the show and matches went on as usual,” she said.
